  • Is it still useful to post new ideas?

The question is particularly directed to Firaxis members.
Do they still gather ideas from the forums or is the game roughly "made" ?

If not and they make a crappy version of civ.
Well it's not going to be pretty. :mad
Maybe I can get a job at Firaxis.
    Bruce Reynolds left ya know.

    By the way.
What the hell does "C'est dur etre bebe" mean anyway.

Brian Reynolds if I recall correctly

My signature? It means, it's hard to be a baby. Don't torment your brains, it's the title of a song (and it is also nonsense )

Beebee: I think you are missing the 'd' in your signature. It should be "C'est dur d'etre bebe"
it's a french song sung by a little kid.

The war we fight is not against powers and principalities, it is against chaos and despair. Greater than the death of flesh is the death of hope, the death of dreams. Against this peril we can never surrender. The future is all around us, waiting, in moments of transition, to be born in moments of revelation. No one knows the shape of that future or where it will take us. We know only that it is always born in pain.'"

          Diplomat: possible, don't know...
          I am not French speaking.
But when you overturn the sentence: Etre bébé, c'est dur. Isn't this correct?

yes you are correct. "Etre bebe, c'est dur" is right.

Don't you have to put an 'accent circonflexe' on être?

Belgium happens to be in Europe.

PS: I think indeed it's useless to still post ideas here.

I would think that it is still useful, after all of the management changes Firaxis has had for Civ 3. The original vision is no longer there, and probably the new managers are still trying to form theirs.

Yes you do need an accent circonflexe, but I did not think you could do it with american keyboards?!

I happen to have a US qwerty-keyboard indeed. So sorry for the people who mind, but no accent circonflexe on etre nor dur this time...

Also, not every country in Europe has azerty. Only Belgium and France I think, perhaps some other southern countries.

I think Firaxis has left the building...
But even if they don't read the new topics, it's nice to chat with other civ-fans, c'est ma nouvelle passe-temps

Les amis, je veux bien parler le francais avec vous, mais a la longue ca va etre dur pour vous de me comprendre, since I am not French speaking

I'd be happy if Firaxis gave another sign that they're listening!

Mais pauvre Bée Bée, tu as vraiment de malchance. Quel stupide magasin d' ordinateurs as-tu que tu ne pouvais pas recevoir un keyboard azerty?

About that sign from Firaxis, they think it's enough if they post once in two months. And apparently it is enough for some people! Just look at it, that 'message from sid (yes!)' thread is stil posted in.

                              Oh my god...

I certainly hope they are still listening.

If they are here is what I want to say : Keep it simple (well, reasonably so).

My reasoning is that the simplicity of CIV II (eg, easy to edit TXT and BMP/GIF files) made for nearly unlimited replay value.

Honestly, I much prefer crappy graphic that we can anyway replace with our owns easily than super-cool 3d graphics that we cannot change (at least, not easily) and are stuck with forever.
