In 710 BC we founded Embassies with both Spain and Egypt in order to check out the possiblity of allying against Persia, who have just started colonising unclaimed land on our island.
Spain:
Spain is polite with us. They have no tech we don't have (!). They would accept an Alliance against the Egyptians and give us all their 35 gold. An alliance against the Persians is out of the question. They have Iron hooked up. They are at war with Egypt and have a ROP with Persia.
Egypt:
Egypt is annoyed with us. They will trade us Republic for no less than all 725 of our gold and 19gpt. They will trade us Construction for around 580 gold. These trades are not exact, but close (couldn;t be bothered doing ALL the work...
). They will ally with us against Spain if we paid them 85 gold. An alliance against Persia is out of the question. They are in their GA and have both Horses and Iron hooked up. They are at war with Spain and have a ROP with Persia.
