  • AU601: Paddy's DAR

    The year so long ago

The place, well a place I like to call home

    The mission, survival

It all started so evenly... it all started in a way that many of my people could not understand... ahh the mighty peace of ignorance

Paddy, not meant to be offensive, but would you mind either not posting things that don't matter, or merging the posts together? Especially it was all within the hour, and in the same turn. Thanks.

      what is the problem

I have been hassled to write this DAR

      so I am writing it

if you do not like it, and it is your responsibility, then close it.

or, get off my case and I will report the game as I see fit... as I thought it was what I was supposed to do...

if you have some specific criteria that I am not meeting, then please let me know.

edit and on a lighter note... these are the posts that lay the story for my whole civ

      thanks NM.. Good Point

I was goofing off far too much

I will get the Bourbon back out and get serious about all this

      I deleted the stuff

Bloody Bicardi ain't a real drink for playing Civ anyway

You don't need to get TOO serious about it, for example, you can have a back story, and what ever else you like, but the less amount of spam in these threads, the better.

C'mon Paddy pull yourself towards yourself! With alls the PBEMs you play I can see why you've got no time for the DAR

Here is the link to the game... AU601: Paddy the Scot / Aqualung71

I must admit that this game has caused quite a mixture of emotions...

Whether battling the coalition of the Lord Aqualung and his many cohorts - and the constant waves of Persian troops into my lands... or trying to cut through the vaste fields of Jungle that the Grand Creators had the pleasure of placing me amongst... basically I have had a great deal of fun and am enjoying the experience

one day I really must print out the rules and mods

As is the way with my family, we do get some strange roles in the lands of Civ

Here we be the Scottish protector of the Greek gods...

You can just picture Zues getting stuck into a good single malt down at the Three Weeds

One good thing about commanding a civ is that you can bring your various staff over from other lands. Here Michelle and her band of bar wenches have livened up the joint and kept me in beer and beef

From our game start on 8 July, Aqualung and I took just on 14 days to knock over the 1st thousand years.

In this time I got a few settlements sorted and my first units placed. ahh my warriors were on the job, out exploring the lands (jungles) that we found ourselves in.

Then the next 2 thoousand years went in a weekend... bloody amazing

it was in this time that I found myself being the brunt of a savage war

Hordes of Persian and Babylonian troops swarmed my borders

and as I looked to my Foreign advisor I could see the crafty hand of the Lord of Wome...

Thanks be to great gods for the mighty Hoplite units

on some of my exterior towns I built walls and loaded up on Hoplites

these fantastic units were the rocks on which the enemy units were smashed - pulverised one could say

at times I lost a township, at others roads and mines were destroyed

yet throughout this I back filled with yet more Hoplites and rushed them and settlers forward to regain lost ground

no matter how hard the ai tried, no matter how much the Hand of Wome pushed, my lands held

in this several great leaders were produced

to them I forged medieval infantry units to produce two hard hitting armies

thus into the fields of babylon we headed

along with the armies went a strong team of hoplite units

and still the armies of babylon poured down upon my people

and still the armies of persia poured down upon my people

then persia wanted to discuss peace - at last

please understand that we be a peaceful people and see war as a sad road to travel

with this peace I was able to concentrate on the battles in babylon

next I moved up a strong team of settlers, workers and hoplites along the egyptian / babylonian borders

these settlers laid down a series of new towns... which did not win a lot of happiness with the egyptians at all
