In an original game played in ToT, emperor level, with 5 civs left in the game, the AI English are at war with the AI French sometime in the mid-20th century. The French are not the biggest civ (I, the Persians, am), and not bigger than the English; not the strongest (I am), and not stronger than the English; not the richest (the English are), nor the most technologically advanced (I am; at best they're tied for second with the English and the Egyptians, but probably not even that). The English sack Paris, and civil war erupts. Given the relative weakness of the French, why did this happen? One last note: when the game was done, I checked the power graph; the French were indeed in 4th place overall when the sacking occured. Ideas, anyone?

Dig trenches, with our men being killed off like flies? There isn't time to dig trenches. We'll have to buy them ready made. Here, run out and get some trenches.
