  • CivFanatics ladder: Beta testing, anyone interested?

Hi everyone, still doing those long boring tree huging hippy crap Diplo games? hehehe, no offense, but for the real action there is also this:

Civfanatics proudly presents the CivFanatics ladder tournament!!!

The Civfanatics ladder is a ladder where you play for points. you can win points by winning, but also loose points if you loose. Every member starts with 0 points. After 3 months, the tournament is over. The member with the most points at the end, wins the tournament. All points are then reset to 0 again, and 2 days later, the next tournament starts.

This ladder has moved itself into a special position by setting some important changes in gameplay:
-Civfanatics ladder provides you the maps on which you can play. you are not allowed to play on random maps. The maps the ladder present have equal starting location for all tribes.
-There are no huts on civfanatic ladder maps.

We have chosen to play this way, to eliminate the luck factor in the game as much as possible. This ladder only serves the goal to determine the best player.

Offline testing of the reporting system looks very promissing already and we are planning to start beta testing it begin februari. We would like you to check out this ladder for us and tell us what you think of it.

Currently we have a big shortish in maps. We want to start with at least 30 maps, but it is a tough job to create maps. We could use all the help we can get. If you have good premade maps, please send them to us.

Please pay us a visit, the homepage of our ladder is: http://www2.domaindlx.com/merrick/MemberList.asp

thanks for reading and perhaps see you in a tournament game 1 februari!

Species - do you have any maps available for download? I assume these are actually scenario games if you've wiped the huts - are they all 2x2x? What is the desired map size? Single continent or ocean worlds? How many players?

We hope to have a download section finished tonight, but i cant promise anything.

The maps start all at 4000bc, so they are not scenarios. everyone starts with 1 settler and no techs.
The goodyhuts are removed via the cheat mode on.

So the maps you submit should be:
-equal start locations for all tribes
      -starting at 4000bc
-1 settler no techs for all tribes
      -no huts
      -all map sizes are good
There should be a submit area for maps by tonight also.
