  • I can't colonize THAT fast

    Ok, nostalgia or not I got my hands on Colonization for windows. I just love the trading system it has!

    Is there a way to slow down the movement of units WITHOUT slowing the overall speed of the game?
    Any wizards out there who can help me out?

    (it's a shock to have a 386 then be out of the PC business for 5 years then get a pentium iii

    This should strictly be in the Other Games/Civ Comparison forum. Colonization is certainly the favourite so far of the recommendations I got for abandonware. BTW Father Beast has made a proposal for a special section for Colonization in the Apolyton forum, which you might be interested in.

      Yeah, used to love the terrain and the trading.

      It's just the war of independence is such a bore.

        indeed, indeed.

        Colonization questions might as well be posted at the Civilization Gaming Network in their Other Games forum, where Provost A (me ) opened a thread on Colonization

          Yeah, I guess you're right. I didn't even see the otherciv/comp games forum. By eyes become mysteriously stuck in CIV2 all the time...
          But then again if I did post it there, who whould've seen it

          Thanks for the link Andz83

          By the way to those who might be interested, all speed problems are solved with a nice boot disk especially made for colonization and the game it self at dos.

            Why does it matter if the units move fast, it's not real time?

              The units (ships, dragoons etc) move at their turn but then dissapear. SO you don't know where to send your privateer to sink the ship and capture its cargo, you don't know if that nearby enemy colony receives a constant re-enforcement of units by land or by see and so on.

                You tend to learn the landmarks of the world you're playing on and become able to recognize them with less than a second of viewing.
                main(i,_){for(!_||(--i,main(i+2,i["FHhhTBFHdhTBFBQT\2TBF&]zRF$hh*:FHhh+&FBIsbDF"]));
                i&&_>1;printf("%s",_-70?_&1?"[]":" ":(_^=_,"\n")),_/=2);} /*- Mark -*/
