    Thank you, Lazarus.
You made me laugh at what I thought was going to be a manners lesson.
I don't MP, but I guess I'd be a boy scout, except for the real world success.

Wait, Didn't Lazarus and the Gimp write that hilarious "civ2 ate my hamster"?

More Lazarus and the Gimp Columns!

I was just about to point out that Horsie is simply making excuses in advance for why he will suck at Civ III...

Don't know - which one is me, that is. Probably an amalgam of the worst features of each.

A truly entertaining read. Many thanks.

I see that you are your old cheerful self, Laz. Why can't you write your novel this way? It would be an instant best seller.

100,000+ words consisting of that kind of smart-arsery throughout would be horrible.

Perhaps, but you could use some of it, as chacter development in some parts. It can be quite compelling, and will certainly grab the reader's attention.

I'm a boy scout! I expand like mad, and then when i encounter opposition, they beat me back, and i get pissed, and expand back out with more force. and then i'm fine, and i win. every time.

Laz, if you multiplay, why don't you ever show up for a game on the civ 2 multiplayer forum? We have some very good players, good company too.

                        There is only one Borg.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

                            No, Mike. I'm not serious.

The column used a technique that involves saying things that aren't actually 100% true, using exaggeration to ridicule certain characteristics that many players will be familiar with. This technique is called "humour".
