Like I said, I just don't care if it's serious, trolling or some appallingly cack-handed attempt at irony. It's horrible, and I've got a major problem with spinless little ***** using the safety of the internet to spout such things.

Any chance of seeing something done?

You would think with the name Captain Obvious that it would be obvious. Its no fun when its so easy. A few people were right, I wonder who? Its like shooting fish in a barrel here. Even if you warn them.

I haven't seen your feelings on the subject on ACOL yet Laz. I would post a witty remark here, but you'd probably think I was being serious and start another thread on the topic.

Speaking as someone who has a Jewish wife, I have no time for the views of jerks like Captaon Obvious. That said, though, trying to silence him does not make the problem go away. One of the great strengths of Apolyton is the rational debate between people of different beliefs.

Just because this man honours Hitler is no reason for him to be silenced any more than I would wish to see people silenced who honour Jesus Christ.

Let us play to our rational strenths and not be weak-willed ostriches.

Like I said, I didn't care whether you were being serious or not. If you'd bothered to extract your head from your arse and read my responses you'd have figured that out.

Where do you get off? The fact that some people choose to use a different forum seems to leave you thinking that you get carte blanche to act like a total wanker. Act your age.

I am sufficient of a boring old fart to wonder where the pleasure is in trolling at all. But to troll without wit? The pleasure of that is truly beyond me.

Have another look at Slowwhand's thread. I read the first page with a lot of pleasure. The topic had sparked off some good stuff and there was an unusually high proportion of interesting/amusing posts. (By the way one or two do show wit, so you might study those for a moment or two - I sort of suspect you are not stupid so maybe you can develop some with effort).

After your contribution the thing became dull.

Now maybe this is thrilling to you, in which case you can add the minute or two I have spent penning this towards your high score for achieving maximum waste of time for nil return.

Otherwise try a challenge. Post a topic which attracts half the responses that Slowwhand's topic did at half the quality. If you can achieve that, or better, you can put me down as owing you a pint (assuming you are old enough to collect it).

If you absolutely must, it can even be in your trolling guise JUST SO LONG AS IT IS NOT BLOODY DULL.

Oh and look. There are some twisted persons whose views correspond aproximately to those in your witless effort (you missed the real nastiness of the tone but you did correctly identify an area where nastiness lives).

Now try this as a suggestion. A man of sense doesn't want to offer encouragement of any sort whatsoever to such twisted persons. I wish you the good luck not to face one such. But don't think, if you do, that practice as a poor troller will stand you well on such an occasion. Better plan is to stand with the rest of us in face of such a one and try at all times to keep them feeling pretty thoroughly discouraged.

We all forgot to do this some time back and an awfully large number of folk lived to regret it.

By exchanging views with this loser you have been dragged down to his level. Lazarus and East Street - I am ashamed of you, you should practice the superiority that exudes from your posts.

I should also add that he is not the only one who has expressed views of this ilk on these forums. However, maybe due to his name, these are the only times these get picked upon. Are we not just picking on the easy target, adopting emotive positions and superior stances and.... letting the other fish get away?

Incidentally, while we are in this holy cleaning of the stables mode and "can we do something about something". L&tG, as a result of surgery as a kid, I have one leg shorter than the other and was often insulted as "gimp" at school.

Maybe you want to reflect on that when casting stones elsewhere.
