I recommend reading the FAQ: http://apolyton.net/forums/apolytonfaq.shtml

XIX) What's these titles under each poster's login? And why some posters have special status?
Each poster has a status shown under his username. That is depended by his post count, like this:
Settler 1-30
Chieftain 31-100
Warlord 101-300
Prince 301-1000
King 1001-3000
Emperor 3001-10000
Deity 10001+
Note: this system is not intended to rank people in any way. It is only meant to give a "civish" modd on the forums. A few, specific, special posters have their own status so that they are easily recognized. For example Brian Reynolds has a "Civilization III Designer" status.

One more case in point for getting read of the post count titles..."civish feeling" my butt. These titles are all about post count elititism, regardless of whatever Dan and Mark say.

You're just upset because I'm superior to you GP.

Gol dang it, EVC! You actually showed a bit of humor and ability to tease somebody instead of always "taking it". Feeble as the attempt was--it shows there is hope for you.

I think the concern of most new posters is that the rank somehow reflects their civ-playing ability, so they think it's a big insult.

The post obviously rank high posters above lower posters.
<img src="/images/blue1.gif" width=100% height=1></font></td></tr></table></center>Yes, in terms of post count, which, as we all know, doesn't mean anything (or so I hope, to most of us).

. Two months ago, I posted a thread wondering if anyone took their post count seriously. All responders answered negatively, most especially the inverterate spammers and those who had complained about post cout reductions.

Yes, you are a settler, and I am an emperor. So
They don't mean anything, they just signify your post count; it makes it easier to detect someone who may actually be fairly active around here, or has been so in the past...Speaking of Erith:
