  • My Â¥3 bout the Forum changes

    not realy an objection, just some observations on the anounced forum changes

    *CTP-Help and CTP-Strategy will merge with CTP-General

    I suspect that you could almost compress all of the old CTP boards down to just one or 2 boards by the end of the year.

    * AC-Help and AC-Strategy will merge with AC-General
    * CTP2-Suggestions will be archived

    hmm, i dont realy visit thoes bords, so im not comenting, its just odd that your combining 3 topics like that, will you Arhive the old boards before you combine?

    * CTP2-Suggestions will be archived

    Granted, your further away from Launch with CIV3, but i almost think you should do the same for that board, Fraxis probably has already lockded down 99.9999% of the things they are going ot try to impliment in CIV3 by now.

    * New CTP2-Stategy, CTP2-Multiplaying, CTP2-Creation, CTP2-Help forums will be created.

    I still think you should keep a seperat thread for Game MODs, so that you can discus difrent tactics (ect) needed for MODs without confusing newbies to the game

    *Changes will star tomorrow. You may use the Apolyton forum for comments on this

    posibly the only real reason left to play C:CTP is to play the MedMod Vertion to the Alien life project

    If that

      You would think they would finally add the Great Library idea.

            It might have something to do with the fact that you've been so unresponsive to people's objections to the changes you've made to the forums. There have been many objections and complaints about the one thread every eight hours change. People have recommended solutions, and there is even the source code for changing it to three threads a day in the FreeCiv forum, but you have not made any changes. There have been many complaints about the new forums page layout being unusable. People have recommended solutions to the problem that would have been easy to implement, as the code to do so already exists. And again, nothing has been done. Given your recent actions, people feel that the changes are being done to them, rather than for them. It is not surprising that you have gone from being part of "us" to being "them". Perhaps you should consider listening to people's complaints about the forum design, and making some positive changes as a result.

              and the huge majority of posters just didnt say anything at all

              just because some people are more vocal than others it doesnt mean they are more than those who disagree

                i'm one of the "keep it just like that" and "i like it" posters, guess i'm not vocal enough though. maybe i should use caps lock and the bold tags more often

                as for the forum changes, i'm only affected by the civ2 changes. merging the help and general forums is a good idea. sometimes the help section doesn't get traffic and that may discourage people.

                    We are extremely busy with Apolyton, yes, but also with other things in our lives and, unfortunately but not surprisingly, university is very demanding on one's time especially as one nears the end of a semester and mid-terms/exams creep up.

                    We are doing the best that we can.

                        I have a solution! Let's start an Electorial College! Then we can have a deadlock and they can declare martial law and then we will have to obey their every order.
