• Rotating Icon in IE and Outlook??

Does anyone know how to change or get rid of the rotating icon that's in the top right corner of Internet Explorer and Outlook Express? I had to reinstall everything yesterday and i used a crap cd to install ie4, and now even though i've upgraded to 5.5 i can't get rid of the stupid little icon it's left there!!! How do i get the little globe back that's normally there?

Any help would be great, cheers!!

Cheers, that's not quite what i had in mind though!!! it gets awkward 'cause i tend to run outlook in a smaller window than IE, so i'd have a little piece of electrical tape in the middle of the screen?!!?

Good idea though, good originality, would be a potential winner for many users, so i'm going to give it a 7.5 out of 10!! The top prize is still up for grabs, so come on - don't be shy!!!!

shouldn't this be in OT? Oh well - I don't think you can change the icon. It's a well know symbol - why would M$ let poeple change it?

Use Mozilla to browse and Eudora for e-mail. Both are awesome and free.

Actually, it can be done. My copy at home has my stupid ISPs logo revolving in that location instead. It's even more irritating!

I have no idea how to change it myself, though.

Oldman:
Open registry.
Do you have two entries under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar
called BrandBitmap and SmBrandBitmap?
These point to the logo bitmaps, right?
Just delete the entries, keys and value.
Should do it.

To make it on-topic:
Who here has the artistic talent to make a civ2 IE icon? Must be 22x22 or 38x38 (preferably both).
To animate, just paste next pictures UNDER first ones.
(pic will be 22 or 38 in width, and Nx22 or Nx38 in heighth)

C.

Catullus, you're going to have to point me in the right direction for the registry... In all my years on windows, i've still not found that bloody thing!!!

I've found the files anim22.bmp anim38.bmp! anim22 is 22 by 660 pixels and has each frame of animation just below the next!! does anyone have the original ones i can copy in, or know which ie setup file they're hidden in?

Cheers
