I like things the way they are now. We have went form a 12-15 page OT to a 7-8 page OT. Most of the time when I make apost one day and have to go and want to come back the next day to see any resonces to it it is usally still on page one or high on page two.

Keep the rule. It seems to be working.

And for all those that claim that they have more than one good idea a day and that some good discussions have been lost forever......hahahhahahahahaha
      What are they smokin.

      RAH
Just one man's opinion who remembers all the 2nd good idea cr*p that used to clutter the OT.
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

But why eight hours? Although I personally utterly hate this rule, as it limits your creativity and stumps activity in the OT, what I hate more is getting a brilliant idea for a thread, typing it all out, posting it, and it turns out you made another thread six hours ago! Bah! It has also destroyed the funniest part of the OT, the copycat threads.

Then why don't you just post it the next day?

That's happened to me a couple of times too. Here's what I do when it does:

I copy the text from the text window, paste it into WordPad and save as a file. Then, when I can post it I copy from the WordPad doc and paste into a New Thread window. No hassle, done.

notice how all the people who are on here ALL the time say leave it? Bah, I am not here that much, and i can usually only check the boards about once a day ( i have my own boards to maintain *G*) I think that 3 in 24 hours would not cause the levels to drop back to what they were. Make it 2 in 24 hours, i don't care, but if i have more than one thought i want to express, i should have the ability to do it!

"I thought you must be dead ..." he said simply. "So did I for a while," said Ford, "and then I decided I was a lemon for a couple of weeks. A kept myself amused all that time jumping in and out of a gin and tonic."

This rule has resulted in my becoming a lurker for the most part, and an increasingly infrequent one at that. It directly affects the manner in which I would create threads, which is a few at a time, then none for a day or more.

I do agree that the level of discussion in the OT is more quality, but I must ask GP, if it's so good in fact then why have your posting habits declined in quantity? I hardly see you post anymore...

This rule takes the controversy out, the spice of the OT is gone. I liked it when it was a combination of intellegent discussion and a brawl at the same time, and I think that you did too GP, am I right?

Gee... I hope you haven't seen much of GP lately. He took another voluntary vacation.
That might be the real reason why you haven't seen much activity from him lately

It seems that current sentiment is against the current limit. Just change it to 3/day (or even 2/day) and everything will be fine.
