I've just accidentally clear my typed essay. So I will say my piece shortly.
I agreed with the majority. But I will respect MarkG's decision. He most likely would have accomplished his goal. But the unintended consequence of driving some posters away may be more evil than the occassional spamming. Whenever people has choice, they will go to the less restricted place or seek to pull down the unreasonable regulations.
My read is that some one will create another Civ site that has more freedom. This may be good to the Civ community as a whole for having more competition.
