Why did MLeonard get a new title? Does he have new powers now? What's up?

I heard they gave him admin powers, so that he has the ability to ban ppl himself, rather than having to send e-mails to the others requesting a ban. (it's not great when you need to ban someone, but know you cannot - i.e. the situation for the moderator function).

ohhh...so Matt got raised a power...does Ming have the same title? He's only a moderator...and he has banning powers doesn't he? Or did Matt surpass Ming already?

This is probably the wrong place for this, but could [io]someone[/i] write someware what the titles the admins. use are, and what they stand for? Co-administrater, moderater, fourm helper; what's the difference?

Just curious.

OK, let's get some things straight.

Markos (MarkG) and I are co-owners/administrators. We own this site, and look after its daily operation. We, in turn, appoint all moderators on our forums, co-ordinate the efforts of our helpers etc. We are the be all and... 'err wait never mind that.

Ming and MLeonard have the Administrator function so they can adequately look after the OT Forum (and the CivII one in Ming's case), but they are only Administrators for the Forums, nothing else. Their primary role is that of Moderator. Ming & MLeonard are Co-Moderatrs of the OT, although Ming has more seniority of the two.

All other moderators are just that: moderators of the forum that they are listed under only.

Hope this clears some things up.

I have a question: why is Dan merely an "Administrator" while Mark is a omnipotent "<u>Apolyton Co-Administrator</u>" (his title is even underlined)?

I think there are some troubles with the script, which caused some personalized titles to disappear...

<u>Underlined titles</u> are in fact personalized titles, which is a hack, not supported by the official UBB.

Administrator is their status on the forums... (not a title)

Other ppl also lost their personalized titles a while ago (MLeonard, Paul, possibly others)

I assume it will be fixed soon..
