  • "Three Men and a Victory" (Part 8/10)

    During <strong>ApolyCon '06</strong> held in Timonium, Maryland this past <u>July</u>, three representatives from <em>Civilization IV</em> developer <strong>Firaxis Games</strong> participated in a multiplayer tournament for the game. The game's Lead Designer <a href="http://apolyton.net/go.php?http://www.firaxis.com/company/bios.php?bioid=30" target="_new">Soren Johnson</a>, fellow Designer/Programmer <a href="http://apolyton.net/go.php?http://www.firaxis.com/company/bios.php?bioid=85" target="_new">Jon "Trip" Schafer</a> and Software Engineer <a href="http://apolyton.net/go.php?http://www.firaxis.com/company/bios.php?bioid=80" target="_new">Alex "alexman" Mantzaris</a> went head-to-head with an on-looking crowd... and a camera documenting it all.

    The eighth of a ten-part "Three Men and a Victory" serial is <a dref="http://convention.apolyton.net/videos/three_men-victory7.wmv" title="Click to Download (14.7MB)">now available for download</a>. Set to a selection of music from <em>CivIV</em>'s soundtrack, key pieces of conversation between the three and other guests and participants help to contextualize the in-game action as seen from each Firaxian's laptop screen on a rotating basis. Below is a screenshot from this production:</p><p><center><table cellspacing="0" border="0" width="300" style="border: 1px solid gray;margin-top: 5px; margin-left: 60px;"></tr><tr><td colspan="2"><a href="http://convention.apolyton.net/videos/three_men-victory8.wmv" title="Click to Download (14.7MB)"><img align="center" src="http://convention.apolyton.net/photos/three_men-victory8.jpg" style="padding: 4px 4px 0px 4px;" border="0" /></a></td></tr><tr><td style="padding-left: 4px;"><font size="1" color="gray">Casualties of war...</td><td align="right"><font size="1"></td></tr></table></center>

The video is in <a href="http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/mp10" target="_new">Windows Media</a> format, 06m09s in length and 14.7MB in size. Part 9 is to be released on <u>January 10th</u>.
