Recently, I have been busy sending private messages to certain new players and was discouraged to find that a few of the newer apolyton members didn't know how to use the private message system.
Now that is no real embrassment as it is unlikely that you had need of the private messaging system yet.
So the way to go about checking your private messages is to look at the top of this page for "control panel". If you have trouble finding it then try ctrl-f to bring up the find dialog box and do a search for "control panel". After you have seen it you need to click on the link.
This will bring up a screen showing many options and will also display new private messages. You can click on any new private messages you may have, however this doesn't give you access to ones you have already read.
In that screen look for the "Private Messaging" link. Again you can do a ctrl-f to find the link. After clicking on it you can see a more detailed setup for your private messaging. Note that there is a drop down box on the left that has "Show Messages From" next to it and says "last 10 days". If you haven't seen this page before, or you irregularly check your private messaging it's a good idea to change it to Show Messages From the beginning.
