Do the Empath Song (+50% psi attack) and the Hypnotic Trance (+50% psi defense) special abilities have any influence on native artillery combat?
I want to form better defenses against rogue Spore Launcher bombardments in the early/mid game, but it seems the psi combat special abilities do not work on heavy artillery units. Spore Launchers can be very troublesome when running early Free Market. (I haven't tested the effects of resonance armors and resonance weapons.)
