    How many bonuses/penalties can you put into one faction? I ask because I've just thought of a challenge to separate the men from the boys.

    No more than 8 total in the following categories: free techs/facilities/units, SE choices, gpvernor votes multiplier, extra resources on fungus.

      Not exactly true. Don't forget there are many bonus options on the Rules section in the editor. Some of those are pretty powerful.

        I don't know anything about limits.

        Once I created this super faction with +2 everything, and the editor automatically added -75% to native life defense. So all you had to do was attack them with native life and they would crumble.

          Maybe the limits were removed in SMACX, but that's how it is the classic version. Just ask Anx

          SteveMc: I've written that there's a limit only on the mentioned categories. Nothing about fanatic bonuses, extra talents/drones etc.

            Ok, then. Here's the challenge. I don't care how you do it, modify the existing factions or create your own, but the idea is:

            Play a standard SMAC or SMACX faction against 6 other factions each with
            +5 ECON
            +4 EFFIC
            +3 SUPPORT
            +4 MORALE
            +3 POLICE
            +6 GROWTH
            +3 PROBE
            +5 RESEARCH
            (leaving out PLANET and INDUSTRY as probably the least useful, feel free to change the settings, or have different combo's for each faction)

            I'm not setting any other constraints, 'cos that would seem to be bad enough .

              Here I really miss the MoO 2 race design... there should have been no more than +10 and no less than -10 total.
