I propose that we have a set time and day each week to get everyone togther for a board metting. The time of the mettings would idealy be something that everyone can attend but realisticly thats not likly so we might ocasianaly move the time around so everyone has a chance to atend. Executives and Department Cheifs should ofcorse make the highest effort to attend and would be most acomidated in the scedualing. The mettings would focus on long term strategy and not the imediate needs of the next turn. I recomend we use an MIRC channel for these mettings.

We also have our own chatroom attached to these forums (see top right, between "Who's on" and "Help"). And I can easily maintain logs of the chats

That chat room seemed a bit unreliable though Googlie...
What advantage do we gain by having these chats though? I would have thought we'd be able to get everything like that done on the board no?

I find that a chat is very fast and efficient as your bouncing the ideas back and forth so much faster then over a forum. Its also good for morale, comeradery amongst our members.
If at some point we get into some major military actions then chat amongst our Security department will be invaluable in reacting to the enexpected developments in each new turn, internal matters are far more predictable. I would often get in a large chat with the core Cycon members after we had recived our turns and these proved very usefull for exicuting our war against the pirates. All the factions last game had something equivelent to this. These kinds of Chats though are impromputed things that start the moment we recive the turn and the am proposing weekly chats for a differnent purpose, long term strategy planning. Being scedualed things I think it will be easier for everyone to attend them thus alowing everyone to be uptodate and involved in the meta-game strategy.
