Softpedia's writeup about the upcoming Civilization V has a different approach then the many other previews that surface the web these days. Most E3 previews inform us about the new social policity system, the enriched victory conditions or another expression of joy about the hex system. Not for Softpedia!
Softpedia tells us more about what we want to know; the 'In-Game Community Hub'. The Community Hub is an in-game feature to interact with others in all possible ways. Without leaving the game!
There's no explanation yet on how this actually works, but the features are spelled out: "Scenarios can easily be shared, scores can be compared, Achievements can be shown off and fan sites can be visited from inside the strategy title, making it easier than ever to get new content and interact with others who are enjoying the same experience."
Firaxis will be praised by the community for not simply ignoring the famous fansites like Apolyton Civilization Site, CivFanatics, WePlayCiv or CivPlayers. No, instead Firaxis intends to use this strong community.
