  • Scenariomaking questions, please help

Yes, I'm very confused. You ask why?

I made this scenario and I want to give it into this community. It's a - when I'm well informed - new idea for Civ III, a whole new concept.

But there are ... we can call it "difficulties". Now I would be glad if anyone could help me.

    1. I made some archers that can bombard and are no artellerie (it's funny to conquer a city and take over the archers....grrrr...). The Problem is, that there seems to be no way for the AI to use them properly. Ships can bombard, artellery, too. But footunits? How can I made the AI use them? They go through the lands and attack without using the distance combat ability.

    2. I plan a very long scenario with a diplomatic Victory (the election to the king), but it seems to take too much time to get this. Then it's 2060 and you can't win anymore.

    a) The scenario is settled in the middleage. How can I change the years? You know, like in CivII, start, beginn, or only month...
If this means I had to hack something, I would do it. I'll do anything!!!!!

    b) How can I prevent the game ends at this magic turn (2060)?

    c) Is there a way to set some gameoptions in a scenario? For example I don't want to make my players follow installation instructions: "Then please make sure that the option "X" is ebabled, but the option "Y" MUST be disabled". This is silly and I don't want it. Any idea?

    3) I made a map, It's a little Isle with 15 cities on the coast (15 players). Every Civ has only one City and can't build settlers, because there are only a few years to play (a turn a week or so). They grow, but it is only the ... uhm... you know ... peasants go to the big city, I don't know the right term. In the midst of this isle, there is a big area of hills and mountains, no living possible. But there are iron, stone (for buildings) and such things.

    a) It would be better to build settlers perhaps. But I don't want to settle in the mountains. How can I prevent the AI to settle in certain areas? Good questions for another scenarios. Half of map is sahara, but no, there are hundreds of Cities, no barbairians any longer, bothering! In Civ II you could decide to give certain fields no food, then there were no cities. Here the settlement gets in every case enough food to have one peoplelevel. Why.

    b) How can I make the AI build colonies? I know they did it in the original game. But anything of those things I changed prevent them. Why? There are not even Barbarians which attack them.

    c) Player Nr. 16 has another role. He is a king's man and CAN build settlers, they came right from the kingdom and in a late part of the game he will come and do so. But.... he does not come. He lives in an for isle-players unreachable other isle and he should come with big ships and many soldiers.

Or do you see this not? In the normal game Isle-Civs are very unmighty. On the home-isle they have a giant army but even with Millions of Transports they DO NOT GET THEM ON THEIR SHIPS TO SEND THEM INTO BATTLE!!!!!

Is there a way to say the AI how to work?

Please write something. I have ideas for a few scenarios which have different game concepts and I do know, there IS a way to make them, but a few things are not known to me.
Working...
