Adding new Victory conditions - is that possible? Well, I have got an idea:
The Story
In the 21st century, scientists find out that life on Earth was spawned by an extra-terrestrial race, called the Precursors. Subterranean scans display a few hidden artifacts, which could grant mankind access to the greatest secrets of life.
Gameplay Implementation
Tech - Xeno-archaeology (really expensive, high in tech tree)
Strategic resource - Artifact (really rare)
Small Wonder - Artifact Dig (must have an Artifact in city radius)
Great Wonder - Precursor Center - Requires Artifact Dig
(The Precursor Center would produce an enormous amount of culture, enough to grant a cultural victory within a few turns.)
This "precursor artifact" victory would require more research, but less production than a space victory.
