Can someone explain the exact math of combat with a single tank (or cavalry) standing beside, say, three foot soldiers of move one. Can it take out all three in theory with its three moves, or just one? Does each move correspond to a separate battle where one or the other must lose all hit points (or the tank retreats), so there are really three sequential battles? That is my best guess, but I haven't been able to figure it out from watching, but it is rather important for strategy to know just how it works, also against an army. Will the tank always retreat if it has only one hit point left on the first or second round in this case?
