Hey everyone.
I've never played any multiplayer other than PBEM. We all know the biggest drawback to PBEM is the speed.
SO, I was wondering about things on both turnless and simlultaneous turn:
First of all, how bad does turnless cut into the real style of the game?
Second, is a dial-up capable of playing turnless?
On simultaneous turn, I've heard it is wonderful for networks, but what about just a tcp/ip connection?
Does everyone need to save, or just the host?
Along those lines, how easy is it to reload the game? Any known issues?
CAN THE TURN SPEED BE ADJUSTED MID GAME/FROM A SAVE?
If not, can a turn speed of, say, 15 minutes be done in 2 minutes if everyone hits end turn? (IE, should the turn speed be set for end-of-game and still allow those annoying first turns of hit-end-turn to be done in mere seconds?)
Is it viable for dial-up?
Also, do I HAVE to use the gamespy arcade? (I despise that thing...)
