  • Firaxis starts podcast

Firaxis artist Steve Ogden, self-proclaimed audio nut and podcast junkie, has started a podcast on the Firaxis website. With it, Steve aims to tell gamers what it's like to work inside the zany world of Firaxis Games.

The first episode has the theme: what's it like to make games for a living? Steve explains what's it's like to work at Firaxis as an artist, tells something about the history and activities of the company and he talks to Firaxis producers Jesse Smith (Warlords), Dan Magaha (Railroads) and Barry Caudill (CivCity: Rome), QA manager Tim McCracken and Sid Meier himself about their jobs.

To learn all about what it's like to make games for a living and what bangin' from Baltimore to Bangkok, giant Dorian-shaped holes, Chinese fireworks, Sid's Super-Secret Project, playing Mario Level 1 for four hours straight and Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg, Germany have to do with working at Firaxis, surf to Firaxis's website and tune in to the podcast! Thanks to Firaxian Jon 'Trip' Shafer for the heads-up.
