Anyone that are having Engine problems, as in loading then it all the sudden crashing at the "Init Engine" part, here is a suggestion.
1) Uninstall Civ4
2) Delete everything in the "Firaxis Games" folder, some folders won't delete though, which is fine.
3) Restart your computer
4) Re-install Civ4
5) Put in the patch for the Render problem (Get it Here: http://apolyton.net/forums/showthrea...hreadid=140859)
6) Run Civ 4 after patch is done.
That is how I got this problem to work. Everyone post what happens and if it works or not. I will try my best to help.
