  • The Ultimate Tech list

Does anyone want to collaborate in making an ultimate tech list? What I am thinking is to have the following parts for each tech item listed:

    Tech name: what you expect.

Prerequisites: This shouldn't be limited to anything already named, but sampler names of what thigs might be needed. It shouldn't necessarily be limited to techs either. We should be able to specify that researching elephant riding requires the ivory special resource, and researching seafaring requires a sea tile within your borders.

Special notes: Can the tech be stolen/traded? Is the tech such that it might naturtally leak away, such as most ideology type techs? Are there specific techs that should prevent this being researched with boolean NOT rules?

Approximate era: Stone/Bronze (upto 3000 BC) Ancient (3000 BC - 500 BC), Classical (500 BC - 300 AD), Medieval (300 - 1200), Renaissance (1200-1600), Colonial (1600-1800), Industrial (1800-1900), Early Modern (1900-1950), Information (1950-present), Near Future, Science Fantasy. This is more a flavour description than a hard and fast rule. A quick sort mechanism, effectively.

Historical data: As nearly as the contributer can research, the actual date, location, and culture that first produced/popularised the tech.

Specific benefits: units enabled, city improvements enabled, wonders enabled, tile improvements enabled, etc.

Description: Coupled with the historical data component of an entry, this would make a typical civilopaedia entry.

    And quite unaccustomed to fear,
But the bravest of all is the one that I'm told,
    Is named Abdul Abulbul Amir
