I get the idea you should never touch them or gather a large army to slaughter them all.
I saw one fussing around near my city and decided to take a shot at it. Then everyone on the map starts destroying my units.
Is it ever possible to have a 'limited combat' with the aliens? Or is it 'once you've made that first shot, they'll loathe you for the rest of your life'?
I'm presuming there's an affinity thing going on. If you want to go Harmony, never fight. You fight to the death if you choose Supremacy or Purity? Or are you able to leave them alone?
Any thoughts on aliens are welcome. They're a big deal in this game, and I have no idea how to cope with them.
