Official: CyCon builds the VirtualWorld (?) - What to do now?

Ok, we got a little problem now.

Like said in the VW built by the CyCon thread, it is possible (even likely) that the most beneficial Secret Project left is now being finished by our hated enemies and first slaves beloved brothers of the Cybernetic Conciousness.

The question is, what shall we do now?

Kody has finished the preturn (all the planning for building queues, formers, crawlers, workers etc.) assuming that we build the Virtual World. If we lose that project, we have a whole bunch of minerals to be put into something else (with quite big losses) and all the planning to do again.

On the other hand, it might be a bluff, and the CyCon hasn´t that much of an industry to outbuild us. Then, if we changed to something else, we would have to start on the VW again, and then we would really lose it to another faction.

What do you think?

We had reasons to estimate their abilities to build sps, and there is no evidence that those reasons are outdated now. Also Googlie refuses to admit the completion heavily, and I don´t think he just does so to save his unbiasedness

Also, why should they get the VW? It would be much more fitting for the PUT.

I voted for "bluff! they don´t build it before us!".

Although replanning all the stuff would just be best, because we would then have two different plans:
1st - What to do if we build the VW
2nd- What to do if the CyCon builds it first and we need to redirect production.

So my vote should count as "replan" just with the addition "only for security reasons".

My understanding is we have already cashed in all of our crawlers, so when we get the turn, if CC had finished VW, then we'll get a prompt, then we could switch to ME or CN. (Both are less mineral right?)

So the first thing we need to decide, is that are we going to do ME or CN. I'd prefer CN and leave ME to the Drones as originally planned. We'll have a big loss but we have to live with it. Then the second thing would be all those micromanagement based on no VW built.

That said, I agree with Micha that we shouldn't sweat yet. I don't think GooglieGod is telling us that we've lost it either. If the worst happens, I don't see holding the turn for a longer period is a restriction for us. We could take all the time we need, and likely that still would not be longer than what the other factions spend.

So let's plan for the worst but hope for the best ok?

My guess is that the CyCon probably have not completed it, and if they know we are building it as well, they're hoping that we will think they have finished it and will give up without trying.

Yes, even though Jamski and myself were the minority in saying to do it a turn earlier, we need to keep on our path. We're getting a SP, it's just a question of which one.
I'm all for the CN, even as the Hive. Just as long as we prevent the others from getting it, making conquering their bases all that much easier.

See my comment in the other similar thread. The CyCon have played the 2137 turn which is now in PEACE hands - you have contact with PEACE - ask them to verify that the VW has (or has not) been built this turn.

(note that they may ask for some "pieces of eight" to give out this information, though, bandits that they are .......)
