Hey everyone. I've been playing AC for a very long time now and have never played online and would like to try it. I am VERY new to the multiplay aspect of the game and have no idea what SMAXC, SMAC, PBEM or any other of these acronyms mean ( though I think PBEM stands for play by e-mail). Anyways I was hoping I could maybe get a few experienced players to start a game with me and help me along. Also any links to sites that might help would also be great. Thanks a ton in advance!

SMAC: Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri
SMAX: Sid Meier's Alien Crossfire (SMAC Expansion Pack)
PBEM: Play By E-Mail
As far as starting PBEM's is concerned, posting your thread this way is a very good start. Also, here is another very good site for starting SMAC(X) PBEM's:

This site also has the SMAC(X) Academy, which has a lot of information about how to really tweak your game for playing against very good human opponents (i.e. how to Pop Boom, most effective use of Crawlers, etc.). FYI.
