The greatest delight for man is to inflict defeat on his enemies, to drive them before him, to see those dear to them with their faces bathed in tears, to bestride their horses, to crush in his arms their daughters and wives.
Duas uncias in puncta mortalis est.

So you don't need me to send the 3800BC save to you again, Theseus?

The trick isn't to break some eggs to make an omelette, it's convincing the eggs to break themselves in order to aspire to omelettehood.

3800 BC to Nathan.
Also, I believe that another small unfortunate consequence of the reload bug is an extra turn of culture. No way to fix this one though, so I decided to pay for it with 1 gold.![]()

3750BC to Arrian.

Arrian, I was able to load it.

As I mentioned to Nathan, a portion of the recent delay is certainly my fault. Sorry.
I've not had a single problem or "reload bug". alexman must be loading his turn through the Editor...
Dominae

Yes, and while I was at it, I edited the map a little. I hope that's OK.
I experienced the reload bug in my first turn only, and I just finished compensating for it.
Just remember not to save the game in the middle of your turn and to load it from the MP screen and everything's fine.

3750bc to Theseus.

Are we still playing?
I still haven't received the 3700BC save...
Dominae

I just got the game from Theseus. I guess he has a real life lately, or something.![]()
I'll send it to Nathan in a couple of minutes.

I will be leaving for Christmas holidays on December 22, for a short trip until the 30th. I may not have access to Civ3 during that time (90% certain). I'm sorry to have to slow down our game even more.
Should we put the game on hold during the holidays, or should I find a replacement during my absence? For obvious reasons I prefer the first option, but my say is only one among many.
I hope we continue this game, if for no other reason that the excellent and friendly competition.

Many of us will probably be without Civ during that period. I know I will, from the 24th to the 29th. The good thing is, since this game is going so slow, a week is only a 2-3 turn delay.![]()
Turn to Nathan.

And on to Dominae. By the way, I'd like to set the precedent that if one of us can't play for a while, we hold up the game and wait for that person. I'll probably be traveling some around Christmas or New Year's myself.
Nathan
I'm with you on that one Nathan. As long as no one is absent for much more than a week, I'm happy. Things should start rolling once the holidays are over and we jump back into a routine.
Sent to Sir Ralph a couple of seconds ago...

It's ok to hold up the game, if one of us is travelling, I think.
3600BC to Arrian.

Oh, yeah, I will be leaving this Saturday (21st) and will return the night of the 26th. I won't have access to civ while I'm gone.
