I support your idea. Especially now that I am making lots of experiences with the various styles...![]()
I would like to see this.
This is a stupid and unnecessary idea.
I don't care about this.

How about editing the forum view so that the menu bar that appears at the top of the control panel page appears on all the forums when a user is logged in?
I know I'd use this a lot.
This is what I mean:
If I'm posting here then Counterglow must be down.

'Yep, I've been drinking again.'

Not bad.

I'm not bothered. Could be useful though.

Doh. I noticed that one can change his style via a scroll-down menu in the top left corner of the main forum page.
But I still like your idea, FP.
'Yep, I've been drinking again.'

It'd be useful for getting to the PM screen, and the notepad () from inside a forum.
If I'm posting here then Counterglow must be down.

It would be nice to be able to check PM's without going to the main forum view, especially with the present page load times.

Just have auto-notify on. That way you don't need to check on PMs at all. Unless you are wanting to check if you've received a receipt for a message you've sent.

Auto-notify? Is that the "open a pop-up window when I get a PM"? 'Cause I've usually got pop-ups turned off.
Maybe, instead of adding a new menu bar and taxing the poor hamsters, the admins could just let you go directly to the Notepad from the goto dropdown (which already lets you navigate directly to private messaging).

could be useful

Auto-notify pops up a message window (not a pop-up, but a system prompt window thingy) whenever you get a PM:
You have a new Private Message. Click OK to read it.
Then it asks you if you want to open it in a seperate window.

Oh, okay. That's pretty useful -- part of the problem with the Forum Jump drop-down box is that you can't open your destination in a new window.

Good idea, FP. I'm all for it![]()

Nice idea, so I support it, FP.But if the suggestion fails, I won't rant about it. The current outlook is OK too for me.

I would support the idea but i can't bring myself to agree with Ras on anything so..... Sorry, I'm against.

You'll find it hard to be on Poly then, if you "must" oppose anything that I say. Looks like you can already list yourself as Fez's colleague and Zylka's brother-in-law.
Anyway, back to the topic.

Nah. Do it. Noses are bastards anyway.

Why do I get the feeling that adding more features will slow the forum down...
If the load wasn't so massive, then I would be all for it. However, I'd rather be able to get to the forum at all.![]()

apathy is always the best policy

Meh. I'm not bothered.
Everything changes, but nothing is truly lost.

I never generally have the sound on when I am listening to poly. I listen to music instead so I don't know. Although I am not keen on having my bandwidth taken up by a load of crap. I have precious little on a 56k modem!

Good idea FrustratedPoet![]()

I'd rather have some sort of "guest list" that would get me into this site even when the server's straining. If it means bumping someone out, like Dan Magaha or some lurker, then that's just a bonus.

Bumping out Lurker would be a real bonus.

I like that idea. Maybe we should have a poll on who should get on the guest list, or rather, who doesn't get on the list.Originally posted by Lazarus and the Gimp

I don't follow what you mean FrustratedPoet.
And how the hell did that post get in this thread. I noticed it was absent from the other thread but was sure that I had posted it in there. Ah well, another Apolyton Twilight Zone incident![]()
