MAP: Yurt's World Map

UPDATED TO VERSION 3: June 19

New features:
-Most parts of the world have been tweaked considerably, especially Africa, Asia, Japan
and North America.
-This map will only work with PTW.
-No horses in North America (changed from last version).

Here is my latest project. Some features:

In making this world map I tried to keep the land masses proportional and not too warped. Therefore, it is usually the ocean that is distorted instead of the land.

The oceans are a bit small due to the fact that large tracts of sea are completely pointless to have in the game, and the slow movement rate of ships will compensate for the slightly smaller oceans.

Lots of detail, even in remote areas like North-East Siberia.

Lots of rivers but no rivers join where they aren't supposed to. Also, there aren't any flood plains except on the Nile and Tigris/Euphrates. I avoided running rivers through desert elsewhere.

Accurate player starting locations using the new editor functions.

Could you actually make the ocenas back to their non-warped size? I doubled the move rate of all ships so the high seas on your map won't really mean anything.

I wish there was an easy way, but that would mean copying everything onto a new, bigger map, which I have already done once.

Here is version 2. (see first post for download)

North America has been improved quite a bit, everything else is the same except for a few rivers in Russia. I also made it possible to cross the Atlantic in a trireme (like the vikings) by adding a tile of coastline between the British Isles and Iceland.

Excellent map. I'm having lots of fun on this one.
Though Africa seems a bit small, and a bit scewed near Europe (like it stretches).
Otherwise, I'm having a lot of fun.

I know, it is distorted. It had to extend right up to Spain. Do you think the entire Northwest section should be enlarged?
