    Ridiculous AI

I've noticed anouther problem in diplomacy. It was late game, and I'm trying to win via diplomacy (I don't know what it takes for other people to vote for you, if anyone knows I'd love to know), but in any case, I'm trying to improve relations, because I thought that would help. I offered Germany 10 gold per turn, and they said that they were insulted! So I offered 20. Same thing. So I saved, and wanted to see how high I could go. After getting to 1100 gold, I just gave up. I have a screenshot, but it's a little big, I'm in the process of shrinking and resizing it, I'll post it later tonight. But what's the deal? I'm offering 1100 gold PER TURN as a gift, and they're yelling at me? I don't get it. Same thing with making peace terms with China. I got 747 gold lump sum (all they had), 5 cities each with 1 population (I've noticed the AI will only give away cities with 1 population, but they only look at population. Germany earlier in the game gave me Moscow as a peace treaty, but only after I bombed it to 1 population. It has 4 great wonders in it). But when I asked China for just 1 gold per turn, they immediatly got their panties in a bunch. So I'm guessing the AI is having a hard time with gold per turn, everything else seems to be working. Hopefully Firaxis will be getting a patch out soon, or are we gonna have to wait for the expansion?

Did you ask "would you care to offer something for 10 gold per turn?" or did you offer it as a gift? They will always take the gift. but the first option they can only accept, if they have something valuable to return. If that's not the case, they will never agree to any deal that might bind them to a 10 gold / turn offer.

Yes, it was a gift, which is the only reason I posted, because I assumed it would automatically accept as well.

Ok, heres the screenshot I promised. And yes, I was offering it as a gift, not asking for an offer.

Then why is "would you care to offer something in exchange for 1100 Gold (per Turn)?" highlighted? You should select "I offer you this gift as a token of goodwill" (if you really want to give away such a lot of money)

I'm aware it was highlighted, just where the mouse was when I finally hit the button. I'm not THAT stupid. Btw, is there a button in civ to take a screenshot? I ended up hitting printscreen.

Printscreen is the only way I know of, if you don't have a screencapture program.
Didn't want to imply that you're stupid, just wanted to make sure that I understood it correctly

maybe ze germans can tell something's wrong when you're offering 1100 a turn and yet losing 10 a turn. I noticed enemies would never offer deals involving more money per turn than I was earning, aka bug.

Also, every civilization shafts me at the trading table. an exchange of 20 gold for 20 gold, for instance, isn't enough for them, they want more.

That's a good point, I started with 10, but maybe I should have changed my money allocation before trying again, too bad I erased the save. Oh well.

That's actually a good point. I've noticed it as well that a deal gets rejected if I don't have the money that I offer per turn. Somehow the AI seems to know that that treaty will be broken sooner or later.
