diplomacy with greater than 8 civs

I've seen this posted here before, but don't remember. How do you access civs other than your first 8 from the foreign advisor screen? I remember reading that it was in the manual, but couldn't find it ther either.

Shift+right click on a head on the screen with the heads to change that head to another head or Shift+D to access any civ straight away.
