This is just what I've done with my civ3 to try to fix things that annoyed me while I was playing. The corruption might be a little too low (not sure though, I've only tested on a game in progress). In addition, sword-type units can upgrade to riflemen and then onward, and cavalry upgrade to paratroopers (as close as I could get to modern "cavalry" divisions, that is mobile helicopter units). I think the only thing that makes this mod any more than a slight tweaking is that I put a sizable distance between the attack and defense of units without firearms and units with firearms, then put another huge gap between wooden ships and plated ships. No more ironclads sinking battleships! (I hope). Feel free to mess with it as you like.
