I care a lot about multiplayer support, but your poll doesn't offer any choices that even come close to my preferences.

This poll was just to see how many wants to pay for online gaming and how many doesn't want to play online (or at least if there's cash on the table).

What more options could it have been to satisfy your needs

Chris I think that ADG is just trying to see if people wish to play a monthly fee or not. Which is debatable of course.

If you look at my poll about making Civilization a professional game I include different options.



As far as the whole monthly fee thing, like I suggested in my thread, it would be a good idea to have basic services available for free and then you pay if you want the bells and whistles. That would be worth it to hard core gamers like me, but to the person who just plays occasionally they would be able to play there as well.

I think the moderators-only rule is there so that we can't skew poll results by changing the options once the ballots are in. If you ask nicely, the good moderator fairy might do it for you.

i don´t get really how multiplayer can be so fun. i´ve never played it myself, but how fun is it to wait an hour for your next turn everytime?

It's not an hour. A good turn time-limit is three-minutes, and almost nobody uses all of that at the beginning.

Boy with only 3 minutes, you'd be screwed in the end-game unless you're on a small map.

Of course, you could play PBEM or Simultaneous Offline Moves - both thoroughly discussed elsewhere. Take all the time you want to play the game...against intelligent opponents.

ok, but that would be app. 18 min when playing with 6 others humans. well u may think of your next turn while the other are playing.

anyway, i can´t wait to crush some real humans in a civ game. it´s gonna end in tears

Uncle Funk, just admit it, you've never played Civ or Cvi2 before. Since that is the case you wouldn't have a chance against even the AI on Chieftain.

What the hell has that to do with the poll? The poll wasn't about if you wanted to play over som other server or not, the poll was about how many was hardcore multiplayers and how many was "just" singeplayers!!!

I personally would not want to pay a monthly fee. Also i would like to have it on a site as in CTP2 or better than nothing the zone. As long as it has some m-player capability I will be happy. For example i played ctp2 online allot and enjoyed that proving it doesn't have to be perfect just enough to be playable.
