Don't see why they should be butthurt; this was one of the all-time lamest cases ever to make it to the supremes. The GOP should be proud that they had enough political muscle to get such a transparently frivolous lawsuit all the way to the highest court in the land.

Although, Scalia being so hugely butthurt is kind of awesome.

This was a good ruling no matter what you think of Obamacare. The devastation it would have caused to millions is not worth the political gain some would have gotten.

To me it seems that this court is really leaning on the intent of Congress as opposed to the letter of the law. Scalia objects to this and it is a valid point. The greater point is that Congress is the will of the people and its intent should carry great weight.

          Good job SCOTUS

Well of course. Normal people shouldn't be upset that millions of people will still get health coverage.

Why is it the Court's job to rewrite a law in order to save Congress from the consequences of a law Congress passed?

Because the constitution gave them the right and power to interpret that law and they have decided to do it on what Congress actually meant?

They meant what they wrote. They simply didn't count on so many States refusing to set up an exchange but that rightfully shouldn't be the Court's problem to solve.

The only problem the court needed to solve was telling your side to GTFO and go win an election

Well...when you get to be a Supreme Court Justice your interpretation of what Congress meant may just have an impact. Until then, the nine people who were constitutionally appointed to make that call disagree with you.

Exactly. If the will of the people changes, it will be expressed through their elected representatives and officials.

The simple fact is that the Republicans will win again someday and then we will have to go through this whole process again.

Republicans are secretly thankful this pandering to the extremists didn't work. It would have resulted in at least 7 million people, all in red states, loosing their health insurance. Worse, Obama would have, rightly, refused to change a thing so that red states would have had to vote to set up state exchanges (angering the Koch brothers and tea baggers) or risk most health care providers in red states going bust. Blue states would have been uneffected.

Even the CBO says that repealing the ACA would be a budgetary disaster.

Since when have facts ever mattered to Republicans?
