So if you are/were a great player only some of the rules apply to you? Sorry, I can't accept that.
I never said they didn't apply to him. He deserved to be punished and he was quite extensively, but I'm with JR, enough is enough.

My comment that he was great was more for my discussion that I think he belong in the HOF.
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

I know they're "not ready" and finished 3rd in their own division, but, all things considered, I think it's clearly best for baseball and all its fans for the Cubs to win the World Series. Now.

Every other major pro sports team in Chicago has won a championship in my lifetime (almost 62 years). I've been patient.

So please... Can we just do this thing?

Cubs are my second choice, even over 3rd Houston.

An incredible streak ended. This is the first time in 5 years the Cardinals won't be in the NLCS.

                    Yeah, what a ****ing shame.

A great streak that makes the Cubs win even more delightful.

Seeing as how the Cubs are the only team to punch a ticket to the LCS, this doesn't surprise me. Everyone else has a winner take all game to get to where the Cubs are. Lets see how the odds move Friday morning.

Probably a lot of chicago money chasing these odds.

And the cubs go down without even a whimper.

I don't mind them losing as much as doing it the way they did. They never had the lead once in the entire series. Didn't leave much to cheer about.

Hopefully there will be another opportunity in the coming years. (and they won't squander it like this time)
