my solution is to get the sore area moving, snow angels sound good
I never go and see doctors for pain like that, or take drugs - except my usual self-medication - caffeine, nicotine and alcohol

Gentle range of motion. Slowly rock the head forward and back as far as tolerated for 10 reps, then do side to side for 10 reps and rotate the head by dipping it forward, then to one side, then dipping backwards then to the other side and then back to the forward position. Do that in one direction for 5 reps then to the other for 5 reps.
