Everything requires a degree now because it's a cheap way to weed out people with resume scanners. College degrees are worthless except for getting past them. You basically pay all that money and time just so you can get a piece of paper, and that's about how much it's really worth. Academia gives meaning to the lives of those who would otherwise be useless to society. It is filled with **** ups and losers who are incompetent and lack the skills necessary to hold down a job in the private sector. The dumbest people I ever met in my life were professors and I made sure to let them know how stupid I thought they were. The only reason you work in academia is if you have no desire to accomplish anything in life.
