Very specific contraceptives, out of a significantly longer list, and the insurance will still probably cover it anyway.

Oh, and we can still carpet nuke you. Don't forget that.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

It's a question of health benefits.

I guess people were just stupid and IQs skyrocketed around the industrial age, then? Sorry, I just don't buy into that.

You've summed it up quite well. I don't see much more to religious freedom than the freedom to affirm spiritual doctrines and the security of places of worship.

I don't think there's any issue where you would respect someone's religion. Anyway, I'm still not seeing how it's "completely ludicrous" to think it's a good idea to avoid trying to force people to violate their religious beliefs.

Actually, it's a pretty darn good idea. Most "religious" beliefs are just statements about the economic and political order. It's the State that commands over these issues. Exceptions granted to Churches are just BS.

Sorry DD but you're just a moron.

I guess I must have a "right" not to respect my contractual obligations towards my employer, because, after all, he doesn't have to hire me. Heck, he doesn't even have to own this company - he could just sell it and buy another one.

There's no contractual obligation here forcing the company to cover abortifacients as part of the health benefits package they give their employees.

IIUC, we're discussing the ruling in absence of which such a contractual obligation would have been mandated.

The chemical plant I manage makes crosslinked bromated butyl rubber pellets, so when people ask, I say I manage a small rubber plant.
