No, that's not my reason either. Additionally, I have no capacity whatsoever to remunerate the creators of the show (short of moving to Canada and buying whatever version of cable exists there), so I also have no capacity whatsoever to deprive them of money.

I kind of like it. There is an interesting twist on the idea of good guy - bad guy.

Please elaborate. In my Understanding TV Contracts usually cover a Season (+Future Option) so unless it is canceled within Season the Amount of People watching has no Correlation to the Payment of the Show Creators at this Time.

Furthermore American/Canadian/British Shows are usually more heavily dowloaded outside their respective Countries so the Effect on the Nielson Ratings, which would effect future Season $$$, might be neglected by the Rise in Exposure the Show gets. Which would in turn increase Second Marketability and DVD Sales. I think there was a RIETI Study to this Effect two years ago.
