Big Grin Apolyton has upgraded to vBulletin 4.1.10

Apolyton is upgrading to vBulletin 4.1.10. vBulletin 4.1.10 comes with new features, fixes, and makes style customization easier. However this comes with a small cost. To upgrade Apolyton from vBulletin 4.1.5 to vBulltein 4.1.10 we must close the forums for a short while.

    This is the plan:

    • Close the forums.
    • Backup the database.
    • Upload the new vBulletin 4.1.10 files.
    • Upgrade the forums.
    • Fix the most urgent problems.
    • Open the forums.
    • Fix the less important problems.

Preferably, I should upgrade when nobody is watching, but I must also have time for that, so I'll start next Friday 23:00 GMT+1 (my local time). I expect to be a little bit faster than last time. Probably, I'll need one hour.

Cool. It's good to see the new owners aren't letting things get as badly out of date as the late owners.

Yeah, that's the idea. It was a pain to see the site suffering from rather an early version of vB2. And I also prefer not to have to much custom stuff on the site that makes it difficult to move things to a new environment.

Apolyton has upgraded to vBulletin 4.1.10, I still have to fix the styles, but that shouldn't prevent you from posting.

And of course feel free to report everything that should be fixed.

Here's a bug which I think needs fixing. See this odd squares? They're found on every page on Apolyton and they're rather annoying.

"Our scientific power has out run out spiritual power. We have guided missiles and misguided men." - Martin Luther King Jr.
"A cynical, mercenary, demagogic press will produce in time a people as base as itself."

Yes, rather annoying. At first I just thought it was something on my work computer but seeing it at home also.
The OT at APOLYTON is like watching the Special Olympics. Certain people try so hard to debate despite their handicaps.
