Diablo 3

Anyone else as massively excited as I about this? Beta is coming sometime soon - and Blizzard's new D3 community site launched today.

Honestly, this release has me more excited than almost any other game since....well since forever I guess

Not really. I loaded up Diablo 2 again and played it for an hour and a half... I forgot how much insane amounts of clicking goes into the game. Click click click. They really should have an alternative but they won't change the formula.

Sounds good, but there was some coverage about the Auction House using both in game and real currency, which would mean rare items could be bought for cash. If so, this game won't amount to much I fear.

GW2 seems better too.

As far as I understand, there will be 2 auction houses. One with in-game currency, and one using real money. I am not apprehensive about it tbh. Lots of ppl are using real money in these games already through illegal sites, and allthough publishers claim that is has a detrimental effect on gameplay, it doesn't seem to affect neither levels of fun, nor subscriber numbers. But sure, it is a radical change from WoW.

And yes....GW2 looks like it's going to be a killer.

Too bad there's no PKing. I understand why it was removed but that feeling of trepidation whenever someone joined the game and you didn't know if he was going to hunt you down or not is something that will be missed from the first Diablo (I never played Diablo II online)

I've had a few hardcore characters get PKed in Diablo II. It's preventable, but it's a steep price to pay for a moment's hesitation. I'm happy to see PKing out of the game.
