Poly gets it's own Civ in Downloadable content

Civilization V welcomes the Polynesia Scenario Pack this Friday, 3rd March.

How much? Cor you're nosey - £2.99.

Inside you'll find the Polynesian civilisation and new scenario Paradise Found. You can try and rule the world as Kamehameha, apparently the unifier of Hawaii. How? A powerful navy and, err, "imposing" statues.

2K and developer Firaxis will also release a multiplayer map pack to coincide with the release of the Polynesia pack. This bundles three new maps: Skirmish, Ring and Ancient Lake.

All puns aside, what exactly are the new civ's traits/units/buildings?

And what's this I hear about getting a GP with completing a SP tree? Is that in the new patch? I didn't notice that in the game I just finished...

you get a gp of your choise whit one of the liberty policys. i cant remeber on top of my head which one tho.

I am playing my first game as poly and the traits etc are pretty good. THe basic trait is imediate embarking across oceans with +1 site with defense, and 10% combat of units within two hexes of the maori statues. The Maori statues allow the workers to basically add culture to a hex. if you cluster them, the culture bonus goes up. I had one spot due to the curve of the coastline that one hex has the basic food and 5 culture, with 2 having four and 2 having 3 culture. The warrior upgrade isn't that hot, but warriors aren't that hot to begin with, opponents have a -10 combat.

I bought the first two civs offered as DLC but I'm now refusing to buy any more until they fix the game so the MP actually works tolerably well before I give them any more money. Until that happens, I won't buy anything from them.
