Under what possible metric is ****ing Italy anywhere close to being one of the ten most important countries on Earth?

I always found this strange myself...no offence to any Italians, and perhaps it is due to the fact that I am in the South of the country, but the place seems like a rabble. Mexico seemed very orderly in comparison, despite how you Yanks get on at them. Yet there are a major industrial power, not far behind my own country. Working in Italy I get to see a little more why, they do tend to be quite well educated and have a decent infrastructure for the most part. I think a lot of it is that it is very difficult to understand Italian culture (and especially Neapolitan culture) from the outside. Rome seemed comparatively organised in comparison to Naples too, to be fair, so I suspect Milan or Turin are going to be at least like this comparatively. And the women here are so sweet
