Zoid, I found out that civstats doesn't crash that often when you don't minimalize it. Perhaps that works for you as well. Thanks for hosting!

Hmmm, according to CivStats LzPrst hasn't logged in to the game since the 9th!

I think we can safely say he's left the game. I'll turn him AI while I'll try to get a replacement.

It's 2056 by default, but you can set any port you like in the civ4.ini-file

My beloved computer of 9 years finally died. I suspect hard disk failure or some other catistrophic occurance as my usual fixes do nothing.

Good news: I now have an excuse to get get a new comp.
Bad news: It will not ship until the 28th which means I may be missing turns here and there. Please do not set me to AI. I will make my best attempts to play my turns when I can.

I thought I saw one of the civs with a Noble setting - about 3 or 4 civs down but it's only visible for about a second on the civ selection splash screen when going in; so it's hard to see. But a while back I logged in several times training my eye on that position and I'm certain that one of the civs has Noble selected.

Does this matter?

The game settings say it's a Monarch level game.

I spoke to Cyber about this a few weeks ago and he reckoned I should post about it as it could make a difference to happy/health rates and I was wondering about tech rates too?

If it has Noble setting, it will affect the game as this is a lower difficulty than Monarch. The only solution though is to scrap the game and start again...

Well, that's not good enough!

How on Earth could one civ be set as Noble? Does Cyber have any clues as an expert in the field of pitboss?

And people are not playing their turns since the issue was posted (except Zoid) NOR are they discussing this issue - particularly China/Hercules - and the game is still up. I've held off playing my turn until China does as I've just declared war on them.

Couild Hercules have picked Noble for China or did Zoid do it?

Sorry for my ignorance but you've all invested nearly two months in this... I'm a little exasperated to say the least...
