Could we have them enabled in ordinary posts again?

A while ago (a year or so) they were disabled for all but the opening posts of new threads. I don't think there was any specific reason for it - a forum upgrade caused it to stop working.

The icons are all still displayed under every message screen, along with the label "You may choose an icon for your message from the following list:" - yet they're not attached to the post when marked.

I liked this feature and I used it a lot. Others did too. It would be nice to have it reinstated.

I really don't know how and if we can get this back easily.
To be honest, I think that this is a low priority thing to us compared to the huge things we have to do. (which is already hard enough).
Feel free to remind us about it now and then.

Isn't is just selecting a single option in the forum control panel? How tough can it be
