    Could well be because of mods.

    Try uninstalling fall from heaven then try. If that doesn't work try uninstalling your unofficial patch too......

    It depends on where you installed your mods really...

      I'm pretty sure I just installed the mod into the bts mods folder under fallfromheaven2. Anyway, I'll try your advice when I get home. Cheers.

            That could well be the problem then. I think mods in 'Program Files' area get associated with the main program on start-up, those in 'My Docs' don't....

              OK, I didn't even realise there were two locations for mods, but that makes sense to me. I'd say thats what I did because I made a desktop shortcut many moons ago and it was probably to the program files location... I'll try this and post my findings.

                No worries.

                No guarantee that the info I provide is correct. My memory is atrociously bad at these types of things.....

                Best thing to do would be to PM an active modder. They'll be sure to know.....

                  No luck I'm afraid. Tried moving the ffh2 stuff from the mods folder, reinstalled the 3.17 patch over the unnofficial one but got the same error.

                  I'm not sure what fall from heaven adds/copies over when its installed because it comes in an exe that does it for you.

                    Other than suggesting a full re-install I'm not sure of any other workaround.....

                      A full un-install, delete all related folders in my games, then full re-install should do it.
                      I don't know why he saved my life. Maybe in those last moments he loved life more than he ever had before. Not just his life - anybody's life, my life. All he'd wanted were the same answers the rest of us want. Where did I come from? Where am I going? How long have I got? All I could do was sit there and watch him die.

                          Aah - there the problem.

                          Even though you install "BtS" mods - they can have an effect on the original Civ 4 files - which BtS also uses to run.

                          You would need to do a FULL re-install to get rid of this problem.
